Sweet treat Saturday/Kids cooking class: Apple pie cookies

My favorite thing to do with my kids is to try out new recipes. Kids are naturally great taste testers because they will give you their honest and brutal opinion. I love to take the classics and put my own spin on it. This is a quick and easy classic to the apple pie that is bound to curb your sweet tooth and you don’t need a fork to eat it.

Apple Pie cookies
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1 packet/0.4oz apple cider mix
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp nutmeg
¼ cup of apple pie filling

In a bowl add flour, baking powder, baking soda, apple cider,
brown sugar, granulated sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon. Give a quick
stir until all ingredients are mixed together.
In a medium mixing bowl add butter and vanilla mix with hand
mixer on low until butter breaks up. Add apple pie filling ,
mix on low then slowly add in dry ingredients. Once all ingredients
come  together form your cookie dough. Palm size balls work great
or use a teaspoon of dough. Preheat oven for 10 minutes at 375. Cook
for 10-12 minutes or until cookies are brown and spread out.
Your center should be chewy and edges nice and crisp.
Happy cooking.
